→Site: Public Library
- What is it: A community center right now. But it is very separate from the university. While it can be connected with the read-write-repeat and seminar presentations, but these are very rare. Open to collaboration, but it is still its one entity. They sustain without OSU’s help. Supportive of local community and support local. They don’t want it to become an OSU site. Collaboration is on their terms.
- Bodies: K-12 students, teachers, staff, read-write-repeat, people without internet access, homeless population,
- What could it be:
- A more supported community center (especially from OSU)
- Not changing their thinking, change OSU’s thinking. WHen OSU gets involved → it shouldn’t be the missionary activism. We should serve them. It should collaborative.
- Cross-disciplinary: They are already doing a great job. IE) Killers of the Flower Moon. They had the dream. They are doing the dream.
- Challenges we will face: OSU will run into more politics than the library will internally will have. The library may have reasonable resistance.
- What are we reconstructing: We are reconstructing the reach of the library and OSU’s missionary activism mindset. We need to go into the library and learn from them. We shouldn’t go in with our own idea and try to bring our plan. Once we understand what they want and need, we can bring that to the OSU campus.
- Incremental improvement look like: the change is supporting them rather than maintain (expanding their reach). But is this what they want?
